- Stiles Corp.Begins Work on New Publix-Anchored Shopping Center
Shoppes at Avalon on Fast Track for Completion in Fall 2009
FORT LAUDERDALE – Stiles Corp. today announced the start of construction on Shoppes at Avalon, a new Publix-anchored shopping center in Hernando County’s Spring Hill community. Stiles and Publix are developing the project as joint venture partners, with fast-track construction underway to complete the 64,000-square-foot center in fall 2009.
Located at the high-traffic intersection of the Suncoast Parkway and County Line Road, Shoppes at Avalon includes 17,150 square feet of in-line retail/office space for lease, as well as eight outparcels available for sale or lease.
“With easy access to Suncoast Parkway, in one of the state’s fastest-growing residential areas, Shoppes at Avalon offers an excellent location for retailers, including service businesses, restaurants and office/medical uses,” said Ryan Karlin, Director of Retail Leasing with Stiles Realty, which is handling leasing for the new center.
He noted that Stiles has worked closely with Publix for many years, and said the new joint venture reflects the strength of that relationship. One of the state’s largest, full-service commercial real estate firms, Stiles is providing design through its Architecture 6400, and Stiles Development is responsible for overseeing the completion of the center. A Stiles/Publix joint venture partnership purchased the 30-acre site in summer 2007.
The center includes a 45,600-square-foot Publix with bakery and pharmacy that will be the Lakeland-based supermarket company’s eighth store in Hernando County.
The shopping center is located adjacent to Villages of Avalon, an 819-unit residential community and within a mile of Trillium, a new 862-unit neighborhood. Both Spring Hill communities are currently under construction.
