Hernando County
Education

"Florida continues to raise its
standards for achievement to
ensure students are prepared for the rigor of postsecondary
education and the workforce. "
Governor Jeb Bush

Education
is a critical factor in business recruitment and retention efforts. While
employers want a quality education for their own children, it is also
important that graduates from our local high schools, community colleges,
and universities will be able to fill future job openings for local
business and industry. As businesses face more global competition, the
importance of improved worker productivity will increase. Likewise, the
importance of the educational background will also increase.
Hernando
County has 4 public high schools serving the community; including a
technical high school. Additionally, the county has 3 private (K-12) schools in
the community. These schools graduate over 900 students per year.
